Down south

Monday, November 30th, 2009

Every year, we spend Thanksgiving at my mom’s house in NC.  This year, I had the opportunity to have a session down there as well.  I got to meet sweet little M, whose mom works with my sister.  M was quite the little character, and such a sweetheart!  No fear either!  He kept trying to make a run for the creeks.  But he loved to help me carry my camera bag, even though it was almost as big as he is!

He was a runner too!  Occasionally he’d sit for a bit, but for the most part, he was on the move!  So much to see and do at the park.

Trees are excellent for playing peek-a-boo.

Introducing Baby S!

Sunday, November 15th, 2009

Today I got to meet S.  She’s 8 days old and the sweetest thing.  She was so well behaved for her big modeling debut – she slept almost the entire time.  You really can’t ask for more cooperation from a newborn.  Her mom was nice enough to answer my call for newborns, and S was considerate enough to be born after November 1.

Here she is modeling one of the hats.  I just adore this hat.  It’s sooooo cute.

I truly love photographing newborns.  It takes a long time, and we’re all roasting while I’m there (so naked babies will be comfortable), but they’re probably my favorite age.  They’re just so new and fresh.

It was great to meet you today, baby S.  Thanks for modeling for me.

Almost 3

Saturday, on a fabulously nice day for November, I met A and her family at the park. A is also in Daniel’s nursery school class, so I see her quite a lot, but it was so nice to spend some time with her and her family outside of school. Turns out she’s a big Dora fan. And she loves cheese!

We had a great time playing with leaves, and her bunny, and generally being silly. And sometimes serious.

Here’s baby brother D, who thinks dad is very funny.

And the whole family together:

A lot of Growing Happens in a Year!

Last August (2008), I had my very first client.  Some of you might remember Little Miss S and her adorable curls – she was also the winner of the 2008 Favorite Photo contest.

I got to see her again yesterday, and she’s done a lot of growing in 14 months (that happens when you’re a baby)!  I also got to see her parents, grandparents, aunt and uncle.  We had a lot of fun in the park.  Miss S is as cute as she was as an infant, and with much more personality!

She’s gotten a lot bigger!

And the whole family!
