It’s always such fun to watch my clients grow.  I’ve had the pleasure of photographing L for 3 years now.  As an infant, a one year old, and now a 2 year old – and a big brother to boot!  This spring, he welcomed his baby sister C to the world, and now I get to watch her grow too.

L is 2 now, and loved showing me his soccer skills.  He’s also quite good at bubble blowing!  And he loves his little sister.  C is just a doll – she’s almost able to sit, and in that fabulously fun baby stage where she’s discovered her feet.  And they’re such cute feet too!

As I was editing images, I was struck by one in particular – it reminded me so much of one from his toddler session that I put the two together.  Wow, he’s grown a lot!

This summer (yes, I’m behind on my blogging!), I had the opportunity to photograph a family I’ve known for a long time.  So long, that I remember when their older daughter was still in diapers!  She and my Noah were in playgroup together, starting when they were just a few months old.  They grew together, they played together, they went to gymnastics together, and now, at 7 1/2, it’s hard to imagine that they were both once babies! So, it was especially nice to get to spend a morning with the C family – their little girls are growing up to be beautiful!

Here’s N.  She was my Noah’s playmate.  Hard to believe how big she’s gotten.  I just love her eyes, and her sweet smile!

And here’s L.  She’s just a few months older than Daniel, and the 2 of them used to do their best to drive us crazy while their older sibs were in gymnastics.  They shared a lot of toys, a few dvds, and occasionally tried to frustrate us with bad behavior (ok, that was mostly just Daniel).  She’s a little shy, just like my Daniel, but so beautiful and full of love for her sister and her parents!

This -  This is one of my favorite images of all time.  It’s not tack sharp, but I just love the emotion.  I wish that every dad I photographed was so happy to be there, and show off the love he has for his children.

Is there anything sweeter than sisters?

Recently, I had the opportunity to meet the nicest family!  We had to reschedule a few times due to weather and illness, but we really lucked out in terms of weather on the day we had the session.

The boys and I had a great time sharing jokes and talking about Spongebob.

They also were big fans of Maryland Football, and brought along jerseys and a ball.  Always fun to do shots like that.  Here’s a preview of what their trading cards will look like in several years:

And this is probably my favorite from the session.  Love the bunny ears!

I got to meet this little cutie shortly after his first birthday.  He’d recently learned to walk, and was so eager to show off his new skills.  Doesn’t he have the most beautiful eyes?

He had a great time showing me all his tricks.  He can clap, blow kisses, and he showed me a lot of silly faces too!

Little boys always have the best eyelashes.

Happy birthday, little M!  It was so nice to meet you, and your parents, and I had a great time playing in the park with you!

Last year, I had a fabulous session with baby L, who was 3 months old at the time.  This month I got to see him again, and boy, what a difference!  He’s not baby L any more – he’s a toddler!  And very pleased with his mobility skills!  Our session was also his first visit to the park, and all he wanted to do was RUN!

He’s got such wonderful red hair!

I love those toddler smiles with just a few teeth:

He was very happy to stop and look at mom and dad, but wanted no part in sitting with them.  Parks are not for sitting!

It was pretty cool that day, and we were worried that he’d be cold.  He was the only one who wasn’t!  Thanks for a great afternoon at the park, L!  Hope you’ve gotten to go enjoy the slides again.

I love fall.  It’s crazy busy, but it’s so nice to be able to go outside and enjoy the weather (when it’s not raining) and the beautiful fall leaves.  Earlier this fall, I had a chance to meet the most beautiful family.

The baby was a little fussy, as 3 month olds can be, and when she wasn’t modeling for me, I had a chance to get to know her big brother and sister.  They were fabulous!

We did get some smiles from her though!  Almost always directed at her big sister.

One lucky family, and one very lucky baby sister, to be growing up with such loving and helpful older siblings!  So nice to meet you guys!
